Hey guys! My name is Rumi and I am a rising junior in Eliot house. When I was a Freshmen, I was deciding between History of Science, Government, Applied Math, History, Philosophy and Economics, but as I was navigating the various departments, I found myself unsatisfied with any department. I chose Social Studies because it offered History, Economics and Philosophy all in the context of each other. The opportunity to design my own focus field to pursue my academic interests has been exciting. If you're on the fence, especially if you were originally interested in STEM, feel free to reach out to me!
Academic Interests: I am interested in social/political/economic theory across multiple time periods and regions. I have a secondary in Math.
Extracurricular Activities: WHRB (Radio Station), Harvard Political Review, Video Game Development Club, Harvard Room Escape
Favorite Courses: History of Science 203: Communities of Knowledge, Social Studies 10, Math 101: Sets, Groups and Topology, Ethical Reasoning 18: Classical Chinese Ethical and State Theory
Career Goals: Graduate School, Law
