Hello! My name is Vivian, and I am a senior in Lowell House originally from Plano, TX. In addition to concentrating in Social Studies, I am planning on getting a secondary in Mind, Brain, Behavior and a citation in Chinese. I was initially intimidated by Social Studies' emphasis on theory and thought I would not enjoy or be good at reading the dense texts on the syllabus. Stepping out of my comfort zone and taking 10a, however, was the best decision I have made in college thus far. 10a and 10b challenged me and made me a better reader, writer, and thinker. Although I initially became interested in Social Studies as a concentration because it was interdisciplinary and I felt equally drawn to Government, History, and Economics, I ultimately declared Social Studies because the sophomore tutorial changed the way I think about the world. I'm excited to share my thoughts with any prospective or current concentrators! Please reach out if you have any questions or just want to chat :)
