Kyle E. Waldman is a sociologist and demographer whose research examines ethnoracial group- and boundary-making processes, immigrant incorporation, and social stratification, with a focus on the Latin American–origin population in the United States. Drawing on large-scale census and survey data, his work explores how demographic change, racial classification systems, and family processes shape the transmission, transformation, and attenuation of ethnoracial identities across generations, with broader implications for the evolution of the U.S. ethnoracial structure.

His peer-reviewed research has received awards from the American Sociological Association's Sections on Population, Latina/o Sociology, and International Migration.
