Advising Fortnight Schedule

March 26, 2018

Monday, March 26th - Kick-off at Annenberg
Please stop by our table to say hello and pick up copies of our advising sheet and sample plans of study!

Tuesday, March 27th, 4-5 p.m. - Ice Cream Social - William James Hall, 3rd Floor Lounge
We’ll start serving Lizzy's Ice Cream Sundaes at 4 p.m. and around 4:30, there will be a presentation followed by a Q&A. This is a great chance for you to learn about Social Studies: we’ll be talking about our history, our approach to undergraduate education, our advising system, and student plans of study. Members of our teaching and advising staff will be at the Ice Cream Social, as will some of our Peer Concentration Advisors, and there will be time for one-on-one conversations.

Advising Conversations - William James Hall, 3rd Floor Lounge
These are four small group meetings hosted by a member of our freshman advising team (Anya Bassett, Bonnie Talbert, and Kate Anable), along with one or two of our Peer Concentration Advisors. Each conversation lasts an hour, and will include a short presentation, some comments from our PCAs about why they chose Social Studies and what their experience has been like, and then plenty of time for questions and conversation. We’ll be serving snacks for each conversation!

  • Wednesday, March 28th, 4-5 p.m.
  • Friday, March 30th, 1-2 p.m.
  • Monday, April 2nd, 4-5 p.m.
  • Friday, April 6th, 2-3 p.m.

Please note that Bonnie and Kate will not be holding one-on-one office hours during Advising Fortnight, as we think that your questions at this time are best answered in a group format. Pre-concentration office hours will return the week of April 9th.
