Nicolas Prevelakis is Associate Senior Lecturer on Social Studies and Associate Director for Curricular Development at Harvard's Center for Hellenic Studies. He has a first Ph.D. in Moral and Political Philosophy from the University of Paris-Sorbonne and a second one in Political Sociology from Boston University. He is interested in modern political theory, chaining conceptions of the self, nationalism, and the interplay between religion and politics worldwide (with special interest for Europe). He has published articles on the history of political thought, the interplay between religion and politics in the modern world, and nationalism, and has co-authored a book on the sociology of fear in modern politics.
