Hi! My name is Noah and I’m a rising Junior in Mather House, originally from Western Massachusetts. Choosing a concentration was a messy and confusing process for me, but I’m so glad I ended up in Social Studies. It’s a concentration filled with incredibly diverse interests, engaged and excited students, and a strong commitment to rigor paired with an even stronger commitment to supportive advising. I would be thrilled to talk with anyone interested in Social Studies, share a bit about my experience choosing a concentration, and answer any questions.
Academically, I am most interested in systems of care and punishment, with a particular regional focus on Latin America. That said, my interests run the Social Studies gamut (as I’ve found to be true with so many other concentrators): from migration to climate to homelessness to labor politics . . . My disciplinary interests center mostly around ethnography and archival research.
Please feel free to reach out to me — I would love to meet you and talk Social Studies!
